Key Databases for Divinity

New College Library in 2021

In line with the Scottish Government’s planned route map out of lockdown, Edinburgh University Library has reopened more library sites and services.

Library Services Updates 2020/21

New College Library has relocated to 40 George Square (formerly known as David Hume Tower).

  • New College Library at 40 George Square holds the main New College Library collections, including books on course reading lists, reference books, DVDs and journals, all on open access.
  • Selected New College Library Special Collections, including the Archives, will be available to use at the Centre for Research Collections, Main Library. However, the bulk of the Special Collections will be stored off campus for the duration of the Estates project taking place in the New College Library building. To find out if the item you seek is accessible and to arrange to consult New College Special Collections and archives, please email:
  • The School of Divinity have made the NCL Reserve Collection available in the Semple’s Close Wing of New College.
