Short introduction - How to access online resources

LibSmart

This self-enrol Learn course will provide skills and help to use library resources for your study and research. You will learn how to access, explore, evaluate and reference various library resources. We encourage you to revisit the course materials throughout your studies. 

Topics included:

  1. Getting started.   
  2. Finding academic material in your subject area.
  3. Finding academic material to support essays and reports.
  4. Managing the information you find and avoiding information overload.
  5. ​​​​​Using library tools to develop good academic practice with citation and referencing. 

This is an online self-paced Learn course. To enrol, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Learn virtual learning platform.
  2. Log in using your University Username (UUN) and password.
  3. Click on Self-Enrol at the top right-hand side.
  4. Find the course in the Self-Enrol courses listed on the left of the screen.
  5. Click 'enrol'.
  6. Click Submit followed by OK. You should now be able to view the course.
  7. If you want to return to the course at a later date, it will appear in the 'My Courses' section on the 'My Learn' tab.
